Tween/Teen classes provide an environment to explore more complex poses and breath work than our kid class. We will explore mindfulness activities and relaxation techniques. Through playful and fun yoga flows, students will learn techniques for reducing stress, and how to connect to their bodies in a loving way. Journaling and mindful art will be incorporated into our yoga practice.
Yoga is an ancient healing physical and mental practice used to help calm and relax our body, emotions, and mind. In this class, Mary-Clare focuses on giving teens the healthy methods and tools they need to reduce stress in their lives, promote positive body image, and build strength and flexibility. Each class is designed to help pre-teens and teens learn a series of yoga poses, breathing exercises and incorporates a guided meditation. Classes will also include a short discussion on how the students can apply what they learn with yoga to help them at home, school, and friends. Every class ends with a period of relaxation and aromatherapy and creates an environment where they can unwind from their day.
